Giant Scarab dedicated by Amenophsis III to the God Khepri, Karnak Temple
The scarab was a popular symbol in ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptian believed that the sun was pushed by a scarab each day as it made its journey across the sky.
There are variations of this, but It is said that if you walked around the above scarab statue 7 times then you'll have no problems in the romantic department. I only circled it 3 times for good luck. Note to self: Must haul self back to Luxor and complete the other 4 laps.
